Project Engineer

Description:

An exciting opportunity has become available with a leading Structural Steelwork Fabricator, FH Dale, for two Project Engineers to join our growing Technical Department.  The role is full time permanent position, although hybrid would be considered for the right candidate.

Experience of structural steelwork is beneficial and preferred but training would be provided if necessary.

As Project Engineer you will ensure that projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.  Maintain projects schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, ensuring the various teams are equipped with vital information to complete the project, and resolving problems.  Controlling project plans by reviewing design, specifications and drawings and also scheduling changes recommending the appropriate action.   Applicants should have good communication skills and have an awareness of planning, some draughting skills are preferred (AutoCAD) and to be well versed with computers.

The Role:
The role will entail being part of a growing team and to progress projects from Pre-construction through Design and Detailing stages into the workshop taking into account all technical information from our clients, the projects Architect and Engineers in addition to other subcontractors and suppliers. When required to advise regarding site issues and co-ordinate corrective measures.

Design Structural Engineer

Description:

We are seeking a skilled Structural Steelwork Design Engineer to join our expanding Technical Department.  The ideal candidate will have experience in structural steelwork design in accordance with British & European codes including frame, primary member and connection design and be proficient in various software tools.  The role is full time permanent position, although hybrid would be considered for the right candidate.

The Role:
As a member of our Design Department you will be responsible for producing design calculations for steelwork structures including portal frames, multi-storey, data centres and car parks amongst others in addition to assessing any temporary stability requirements.  You will be capable of undertaking primary member & connection design including the production of associated design documentation. You will also produce competitive tender designs for our Pre-Construction Department.

I.T Apprentice

To support our continuing expansion we are currently looking to recruit an Apprentice IT Support Technician to join our Leominster based team.

This position would suit someone considering full-time employment combined with the opportunity to achieve further qualifications on a day-release basis.

Roles & Responsibilities

Help users troubleshoot day-to-day IT support issues

Record, prioritise, and report on support incidents.

Provide basic instructional training to staff where necessary.

Fixing computers and issues on-site and in the workshop.

Using initiative to learn and be up to date with the latest technologies.

Perform scheduled maintenance on computer systems to ensure efficient operations.

This position will provide exposure to other areas of IT such as software development, infrastructure and networking.

Welders, Fabricators and Machine Operatives.

Due to our continuing expansion we are currently looking to employ workshop operatives for various roles within our new state-of-the-art fabrication facility to include: Welders, Machine Operatives and Fabricators.

The ideal applicant will have knowledge within the structural steel industry and the necessary skills.

Full training will be provided to the successful applicants to ensure employment is within a Productive, Quality driven and Safe Working Environment.

The role offers a great opportunity for someone who is looking to join a leading structural steel fabricator involved in projects across the UK and with these positions offering a working pattern of 0600 Hrs – 1400 Hrs & 1400 Hrs -2200 Hrs on a weekly rotating shift, or the option to work on the dedicated night shift working the hrs of 2030 Hrs – 0630 Hrs Monday – Thursday (Inc).

These full time positions will offer a competitive hourly rate inclusive of relative shift allowance, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package.

Structural Steelwork Site Supervisor

Based:  On our sites throughout the UK

Hours of Work: Full time, Permanent

Package: Competitive Salary / Package / Company Vehicle

As part of our succession planning allied with continued growth, including significant capital investment in a new state-of-the-art fabrication facility, we are looking to appoint an additional Site Supervisor.

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate to join our busy contracts team; the ideal candidate will ideally have experience within the structural steelwork or allied industry & in a site environment. Reporting directly to the Contracts Managers, you will be responsible for assisting with the supervision of our site activities, with key areas being:

Attending our sites throughout the UK supervising our sub contract and directly employed site erection and snagging teams.

Inducting our erection teams to ensure all aspects of the project are fully and effectively communicated.

Ensuring the project specific method statements and risk assessments are fully understood and adhered to.

Monitoring progress of the project(s), covering all aspects of health and safety, quality and efficiencies.

Communicating daily & acting as a conduit between our Erection Teams & Contracts team to ensure all site issues are reported & handled in an effective & efficient manner.

Attending daily and weekly site meetings with our clients.

Producing and submitting weekly site reports.

The ideal applicant:-

Will have experience within the structural steelwork industry.

Will hold CSCS (Supervisor) & SSSTS Certification.

It would be advantageous (although not a pre-requisite) if the applicant had IPAF (3a + 3b) & Appointed Person/Lift Supervisor status, although training can be provided in this area. the following current certification/training:

Will be Self-motivated with a sound knowledge of structural steel construction methods and practices, including decking and installation of pre-cast units.

Will Possess an understanding of the various Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality aspects/demands of Construction Sites within the UK, supported & underpinned by our SHEQS Department.

Have a can do attitude & be willing to travel to various sites throughout the UK and liaise with our Contracts Managers, site teams, sub contractors, and Clients.

Have an appreciation & understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of software.

Structural Steelwork Site Welder

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate to join our busy contracts team working under supervision & on our sites throughout the UK.

Experience in structural steelwork or an allied industry & in a site environment is required.

Reporting directly to our site management team, you will have an integral role within our site activities.

You will have responsibilities for our structural steelwork site modifications/variations on projects throughout the UK.

The ideal applicant will be:

  • Comfortable working at height.
  • Structural steelwork experienced and have CSCS / IPAF accreditation.
  • Have a full UK Driving License.
  • Be Self-motivated, have a can do attitude & be willing to travel to various sites throughout the UK (including Overnight Stays).
  • Have the ability to liaise with our Contracts Managers, site teams, sub contractors, and Clients.
