Quantity Surveyor – Leominster, Herefordshire

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Leominster, Herefordshire. We are looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor who will be responsible for managing all project-related costs. The role focuses on minimising costs, protecting margins and providing value for money whilst maintaining quality. This includes contract administration, procurement, subcontract management, monthly payments and final account settlement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with departments to ensure timely project delivery and maintain margins
  • Attend contract pre-start and subcontract package review meetings
  • Review and vet contract documentation
  • Attend internal and client-led design meetings and provide cost advice
  • Liaise with Project Lead Engineers on programmes
  • Prepare cost analysis and monitor subcontract packages
  • Track cashflow via stage payment schedules
  • Negotiate variations prior to final scheme
  • Prepare and submit applications for payment
  • Liaise with clients on interim payments and final accounts
  • Attend site, project and client meetings

Requirements

  • Integrity, motivation and high standards
  • HNC in Surveying/Construction (desirable)
  • Construction experience (structural steel advantageous)
  • Strong Excel and IT skills
  • Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Good communication and negotiation skills

Senior Contracts Manager – Leominster, Herefordshire

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to join and lead our contracts team. Reporting directly to a Director, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, to a high standard and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage contract team
  • Maintain full commercial control of site costs
  • Drive high standards in health and safety
  • Prepare and negotiate subcontract packages
  • Attend client pre-let meetings
  • Liaise with internal teams across projects
  • Monitor performance and report progress
  • Ensure labour resources are managed effectively

Requirements

  • 5–10 years’ experience in structural steel
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods

Project Engineer – Leominster, Herefordshire

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our Technical team. Reporting directly to the Technical Director, you will play a key role in progressing projects from sales through design and detailing into production and installation.

You will liaise with Main Contractors, Architects, Engineers, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure technical information is coordinated effectively and projects are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Main Contractors and Project Design Teams to coordinate technical information
  • Develop project-specific details and solutions based on technical information in line with company systems and client requirements
  • Ensure information is available for design calculations and detailing to progress on programme
  • Ensure that pre-agreed internal and external deadlines are met.
  • Obtain approvals from Project Design Teams where required
  • Accurately record discussions, agreements and project changes
  • Communicate programme or cost implications through the appropriate channels
  • Produce and review outgoing technical information to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors including decking, cladding and door contractors
  • Work closely with CAD Operators, Design Engineers and Commercial teams
  • Support effective communication between Contracts, Production and Site teams
  • Assist with resolving site issues and coordinating corrective actions where required
  • Maintain strong working relationships internally and externally to support successful project delivery

Requirements

  • Experience within construction or structural steelwork preferred
  • Technical understanding of fabrication drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Organised with strong attention to detail
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong IT and administrative skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across internal and external teams
  • Training and CPD supported
